Alinea Analytics estimates Forza Horizon 6 has sold 8.8 million copies and earned $579.2 million, putting it atop the 2026 first-party chart. The PS5 version is scheduled for 26 January 2027, alongside an expansion and a free update.
Alinea Analytics published its figures on 13 October, with Forza Horizon 6's PlayStation 5 version still months from release. The firm estimates 8.8 million copies sold and $579.2 million in revenue so far. That puts the game ahead of every PlayStation or Xbox first-party title on Alinea's 2026 chart. A PS5 launch could give Playground's racer another route to Gran Turismo 7's estimated $834 million in revenue, though overtaking that figure remains a possibility, not a confirmed outcome.
Revenue lead
Alinea estimates that Forza Horizon 6 has generated $579.2 million to date. Its figures are estimates, not official financial results from Microsoft or Playground Games. The firm attributes 56.7% of the game's revenue to the Xbox ecosystem, counting console and PC versions. Steam contributed less. Alinea also estimates that more than 10 million Game Pass subscribers accessed the game. Around 1.3 million paid for a Game Pass upgrade, generating about $82 million in revenue.
Those numbers track different kinds of activity. Revenue from paid copies is separate from Game Pass access, where players can play without buying the game individually. That distinction matters when comparing sales estimates with player milestones. NGB has also covered a player-count milestone in its report on Enshrouded's player total.
Forza Horizon 6 launched on 19 May 2026 for Xbox Series and PC. PC players could get it through Steam or the Microsoft Store, and the game was also available through Game Pass. The PS5 edition is scheduled for 26 January 2027 in digital and physical formats. It will arrive alongside the first expansion and a free update. Premium Edition owners get five days of early access from 21 January, when the first paid expansion is also due. The PS5 version will support cross-platform play and cross-saves. Those features will work across PS5 and Xbox, with Steam also supported.
Alinea puts Gran Turismo 7 at an estimated $834 million in revenue, about $254.8 million ahead of Forza Horizon 6's current estimate. That comparison covers Forza Horizon 6 before its PS5 sales begin. The new launch could bring in more revenue, but Alinea's figures do not establish when, or whether, the game will pass its rival.
The rest of the chart
Marvel's Wolverine ranks second, with an estimated 2.5 million copies sold and around $193 million in revenue almost a month after launch. The report cites a PlayStation Store user rating of 4.7 out of 5. MLB The Show 26 is close behind at an estimated $192.7 million. The Sony-owned San Diego Studio series is multiplatform, and Alinea estimates that Xbox accounts for 48% of its revenue. Its estimated performance is 25% ahead of last year's edition.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is estimated to have earned $86.5 million. PlayStation 5 accounts for 46.5% of that revenue, while Steam contributes 12.2%. Marathon follows at $61 million from 1.7 million sales. Those sales came from PC and PlayStation 5, with Xbox also among the platforms. Bungie has confirmed plans for a Nightfall Refresh in October and a Symbiosis update in December. The report puts daily users across platforms at around 50,000.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has sold around 800,000 copies since its August release, generating an estimated $51.6 million. PlayStation 5 accounts for 82% of that revenue, while the PC version has faced severe performance issues. Gears of War: E-Day is estimated at 311,000 sales, including 210,000 on Steam and 101,000 on Xbox, for $42.1 million. Saros closes the chart with 521,000 copies sold and $40.4 million in estimated revenue.
What the estimates show
Forza Horizon 6 is an unusually strong performer among the first-party releases in Alinea's chart, but the figures remain estimates rather than audited sales disclosures. Platform breakdowns also show how a headline total can conceal different revenue mixes. Forza Horizon 6 leans towards Xbox. MLB The Show 26 has a substantial Xbox revenue share, while MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is heavily weighted towards PS5.
Alinea estimates that Forza Horizon 5 eventually exceeded $1 billion in revenue, above Gran Turismo 7's estimated $834 million. The firm expects the newer game could surpass its predecessor in time, but the current figures do not show that milestone has been reached. Alinea does not expect a PC release for Saros, following Sony's decision not to port its single-player games to the platform.
Sales estimates count paid copies. Subscription access measures players who can play without buying an individual copy. Revenue estimates can cover different platforms and purchase routes, so their scope matters. Game Pass access adds reach to Forza Horizon 6 without turning every subscriber into a sale. Its PS5 release remains scheduled for 26 January 2027.
