Arknights: Endfield Sets 2 September Date for 'Dreamscape of Wind and Snow' Update

GRYPHLINE has announced that Arknights: Endfield's next major update, 'Dreamscape of Wind and Snow', will arrive on 2 September 2026, bringing a new Operator, a time-loop puzzle map, and a free character event across PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile

GRYPHLINE has confirmed that 'Dreamscape of Wind and Snow', the next content update for Arknights: Endfield, will launch on 2 September 2026. The update introduces Typhoeus, a returning Operator from the original Arknights, and sends players into the supernatural Snowy Forest. The announcement was made during the game's latest Version Preview livestream, which also highlighted upcoming features and platform plans.

New Operator and Snowy Forest Setting

Typhoeus, described as an icefield huntress with a deep interest in Sami legends, will be available as a playable Operator. Her arrival brings a new storyline set in the Snowy Forest outside Yinglung Pass, where players-taking the role of the Endministrator-must navigate enchanted fog and uncover the region's secrets. The update's narrative includes encounters with Chief Engineer Andre and a new regional boss, Gloomwald's Rage. Typhoeus is a Nature Striker who uses a bow, combining aerial attacks, multi-target shots, and deployable traps to control the battlefield.

The Snowy Forest's atmosphere is further developed through its soundtrack, which draws on Sámi musical traditions and Nordic folk-electronic influences. GRYPHLINE has collaborated with Finnish musician Vilma Jää, known for her work on CONTROL Resonant, to create a distinctive theme for the update. This approach follows the previous 'Homecoming' update, which featured music by electronic artist Crywolf.

Time Loop Puzzle Map and Free Operator Event

On 24 September, the update will expand with the Suiming puzzle-exploration map. Suiming is designed around a repeating 15-minute time loop, where rising and falling tides reveal new routes and environmental clues. Players must collect parts to repair the Waking Bell before the Blight Tide arrives, with progress carrying over between loops. This structure encourages exploration and gradual discovery of the city's history.

Also beginning 24 September, the Purrchena Tribute Event will allow players to recruit Purrchena, a Physical Defender, at no cost. Purrchena's combat abilities focus on shielding allies and providing support through healing gift boxes. Completing all six event missions will grant enough copies to maximise both Purrchena's and her recommended weapon's Potential. These additions are part of a broader content roadmap that includes new challenges, seasonal events, and player-experience improvements.

Platform Availability and Technical Features

Arknights: Endfield is currently available on PlayStation 5, PC via the official launcher and Epic Games Store, and mobile devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. GRYPHLINE has also confirmed that a Steam release is planned, with wishlisting open now and a launch date to be announced. The game supports cross-platform progression and leverages advanced graphical features, including native 120 FPS support, realistic snow and puddle effects, and expanded graphics options such as DLSS 4.5, improved PSSR, and FSR 3.

Since its launch on 22 January 2026, Arknights: Endfield has received ongoing free content updates and has been nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Innovation, and AudioVisual Excellence at Pocket Gamer's 2026 Mobile Game Awards. The title has surpassed 100 million downloads across platforms, reflecting its broad reach and live-service ambitions. 'Dreamscape of Wind and Snow' will be available as a free update, with additional content and events rolling out through September. The game is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB, and further details can be found on the official Arknights: Endfield website and social channels.
Live-service games like Arknights: Endfield rely on regular content updates, seasonal events, and ongoing technical improvements to maintain player engagement. These updates often introduce new characters, maps, and gameplay systems, while also addressing balance and performance. The live-service model allows developers to respond to player feedback and extend a game's lifespan, but it also means that content availability and gameplay experience can change significantly over time. Understanding this structure is key to following the evolution of modern online games.
