Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Controllers Arrive in Europe

Game Outlet Europe will distribute 8BitDo's Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary controllers across the UK and EU. The announcement lists 13 November 2026 as the release date, while independent listings point to 24 October and show pre-orders open through 8BitDo and Amazon.

Two new 8BitDo gamepads are bringing Tomb Raider styling to European shelves. Game Outlet Europe says the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller for XBOX and the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth® Gamepad will reach major UK and EU retailers ahead of the holiday season. The announcement gives 13 November 2026 as the European release date. DLCompare reports an earlier date of 24 October 2026 and says both models are already available for pre-order through the official 8BitDo store and Amazon.

The European launch

The range marks 30 years of Tomb Raider. Its look draws on Lara Croft and the Lost Valley. Both controllers are official Tomb Raider collaborations, with artwork intended to make them display pieces as well as working accessories. Game Outlet Europe, based in Karlstad Sweden, made the announcement. The company distributes video games and gaming hardware globally.

DLCompare describes the Ultimate 3 as a limited collector-focused edition. It does not independently confirm distribution through all major UK and European retailers.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller for XBOX will cost £94.99 or €109.99 MSRP, according to the European announcement. DLCompare separately lists a US price of $119.99, about $20 above standard special editions priced at $99.99. Independent confirmation of the European MSRP was not available.

The 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth® Gamepad will cost £69.99 or €79.99 MSRP in the supplied European announcement. DLCompare lists the Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition at $79.99 in the US. The announcement gives both products a 13 November 2026 release date. The independent listing instead points to 24 October 2026 and shows active pre-orders.

Buyers therefore have announced European prices, but the release dates do not match. The technical details below come from the product specifications supplied for the announcement and from supporting product coverage. They are not results from testing by NGB. The official 8BitDo store is the main place identified in the independent listings for checking current availability and pre-order status.

Ultimate 3 for XBOX

The Ultimate 3 is officially licensed for Xbox. It works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. On Xbox and PC, it connects through 2.4GHz wireless or a wired connection. Its stated polling rate reaches up to 1000Hz, which may matter in latency-sensitive games. The announcement gives no measured latency figures or testing conditions. DLCompare's product information also says Bluetooth can connect the controller to Android and Apple devices.

Its dual thumbsticks use TMR technology. TMR sensors are designed to provide precise magnetic tracking and reduce the mechanical wear linked to traditional analogue-stick designs. That description does not guarantee that stick drift can never occur.

EnosTech also confirms the TMR sticks and Hall-effect triggers. It provides no independent measurements of latency, durability or resistance to stick drift. Hall-effect Impulse Triggers offer two trigger-stop positions. Players can use a shorter pull for rapid inputs or the full range in games that rely on analogue trigger travel.

Two rear buttons add configurable inputs. They let players move selected commands away from the face buttons. The included wireless Tomb Raider-themed charging dock charges the controller and displays it. Its design carries Tomb Raider imagery and the series' 30th Anniversary logo. The dock is part of the collector presentation, not just a basic charging accessory.

The Ultimate 3 works with 8BitDo Ultimate Software X and Ultimate Software V2 Mobile for controller adjustments.

Pro 3 across platforms

The Pro 3 supports more platforms. It connects to Nintendo® Switch™ and Nintendo® Switch™2 through Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless or wired USB. Windows™ supports 2.4GHz and wired USB connections. SteamOS and mobile devices can use Bluetooth or wired USB. Its stated compatibility list is wider than the XBOX-focused Ultimate 3.

Like the Ultimate 3, the Pro 3 uses TMR-powered dual thumbsticks and Hall-effect triggers. It adds R3 and L4 bumpers alongside two rear buttons, giving players several ways to remap controls. The tactile D-pad is designed for precise directional input. The controller also includes vibration support and a Turbo function.

Its most distinctive feature is the magnetic ABXY face-button system. Players can swap the buttons for different platform layouts. Six-axis motion control is available when the controller is used with Switch or Steam. A charging dock is included here as well. Players can configure the controller through 8BitDo Ultimate Software X and Ultimate Software V2 Mobile.

NGB recently looked at how another adventure-focused release was being modernised in earlier coverage. The comparison only helps show the difference in audience interest. These 8BitDo products are accessories, not new games. Their appeal depends on hardware compatibility and design as much as on franchise recognition.

What buyers can verify

The confirmed offer is two licensed Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary gamepads with themed charging docks. The European announcement lists 13 November 2026 and MSRP prices of £94.99/€109.99 for the Ultimate 3 and £69.99/€79.99 for the Pro 3. Independent listings instead report 24 October 2026, a US price of $119.99 for the Ultimate 3 and $79.99 for the Pro 3. They also show both models available for pre-order through 8BitDo and Amazon.

The Ultimate 3 targets Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices. The Pro 3 covers Nintendo® Switch™, Nintendo® Switch™2, Windows™, SteamOS and mobile devices through different connection methods.

Several details remain unconfirmed. The announcement and supporting coverage provide no independent measurements of polling behaviour, input latency, battery endurance or stick longevity. They do not give regional retailer stock levels or battery capacity. They also do not say whether every listed connection mode has the same feature support across platforms.

Buyers should treat the compatibility claims as the announced specification, not as a substitute for platform-by-platform testing.

The software may matter most to players who want more than a collector-style finish. Button mapping and other adjustments are available through the relevant 8BitDo applications. The announcement does not list every setting or explain whether all options work in the same way on Xbox, Switch, PC, SteamOS and mobile.

That leaves the dock and Lara Croft artwork as the clearest shared selling points. The practical benefit of TMR sticks and configurable controls will depend on how each player uses the controller.

Controller software is a configuration layer, not a performance mode. It can change mappings and preferences, but it cannot make an unsupported connection compatible. The stated specifications make these credible multi-platform accessories with a strong franchise design. The available evidence does not prove that they are upgrades for every player.

For Tomb Raider collectors and owners of the listed systems, the controllers are a focused holiday release. Other buyers should confirm platform support, check the date difference between the Game Outlet Europe announcement and the independent listing, and wait for independent testing before paying extra for the artwork.
