Gabriel's Games has released the Soulstonia Demo on Steam for Windows and macOS. It covers five regions, removes playtime and progression caps, and carries saves into Early Access on 10 December 2026.
Act I spans more than 15 quests across the Grasslands, and players can carry that progress into Early Access. The Soulstonia Demo also opens the Desert, Jungle, North and Volcano regions, although their later story quests remain locked to avoid spoilers.
A demo built to continue
Gabriel's Games released the Demo for Windows and macOS on 8 October 2026. It has no playtime or progression cap, supports five regions, includes more than 20 core and hybrid skills, and lets those skills reach level 99. Finishing Act I unlocks a second Summoner. Existing Soulstonia Playtest saves transfer automatically into the Demo.
That save policy gives the release more weight than a standard taster. Players can start building a character now without assuming every hour will be thrown away when Early Access begins. The Demo will stay playable after Steam Next Fest and remain available until the launch date.
Hands on or hands off
Soulstonia splits its play between direct control and automation. Players can take command of any Summoner, set an idle goal, or leave that character to work independently while gathering resources, crafting equipment, banking items, fighting enemies, collecting loot and training skills.
A Summoner can work toward a defined task in the background while another remains under direct control. That setup lets players switch between active play and idle progress instead of keeping the entire party under constant supervision.
After Act I, the second Summoner opens up simultaneous two-character adventuring. Combat covers melee, ranged attacks, magic and Summoning. Soulstones can call creatures that fight and gather alongside the party.
The design sits in the same practical lane as earlier demo coverage of games that use a public build to set expectations before launch. The difference here is straightforward: Gabriel's Games is offering progress that carries forward instead of a self-contained slice that stops at a fixed wall.
Five regions, different worlds
Every new save generates a different version of Soulstonia. Villages, roads, resources, enemies, non-player characters, landmarks and Points of Interest can all appear in different locations. Exploration across the five available regions will not follow one universal map layout.
The procedural structure gives the Demo a clear replay angle, but the available material does not show how broad that variation is. It also does not establish how much the changes affect quest routes, difficulty or long-term progression.
That limit matters because the Demo holds back later-region story quests. Players can investigate the geography and systems of the Desert, Jungle, North and Volcano, while the full narrative progression for those areas stays reserved for Early Access.
Next Fest and Early Access
Soulstonia will appear during Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October 2026. Steam already lists the Demo, and it will stay playable after the festival until Early Access begins on 10 December 2026.
GameGrin reports that Steam Next Fest runs roughly three times a year, in February, June and October. The October 2026 edition lasts one week and focuses on free demos for upcoming games. Igralnya, in a separate Russian-language gaming report, also gives the festival dates as 19 to 26 October.
The event will be crowded. GameDiscover has cited a preliminary estimate of more than 8,000 demos queued for the October 2026 Next Fest, although that figure could change before the festival starts. Soulstonia will have to stand out in a showcase packed with competing releases.
Gabriel's Games also says Soulstonia will be free to play in Early Access. Development is planned to continue toward version 1.0 through additional content, balance changes, polish and player feedback. The December release is therefore an ongoing development milestone, not a finished product.
For players testing the build, the offer is clear: a free Demo, uncapped skills, access to each region's geography, a two-Summoner party and transferable saves. The missing later story content is the main boundary, and the developers have stated it openly.
Save transfer is the feature that may move the needle most. In a procedural game, restarting can wipe out the value of early experiments. Here, the Demo functions as the first chapter of an Early Access save, while the withheld story content and unfinished status keep the scope of the test limited.
Open-web results do not provide independent new confirmation of later Soulstonia developments beyond the release details described here, including the Demo's availability and save transfer. No additional official statement from Gabriel's Games or Valve was found in those results. The 8 October Demo launch and 10 December Early Access date remain the specific milestones stated in the announcement.
