NARUTO Mythos TCG Set for US Debut at San Diego Comic-Con

NARUTO Mythos TCG will be playable for the first time in the US at San Diego Comic-Con, with Zvezdar handling exclusive distribution and early access to promo cards and booster boxes ahead of the official North American launch

NARUTO Mythos TCG is officially heading to the United States, with its first public hands-on sessions scheduled for San Diego Comic-Con. The game, which has already established a presence in Europe, will be distributed exclusively in the US by Zvezdar, a company expanding its reach into the American hobby and trading card market. Attendees at Comic-Con will have the opportunity to try the game for free, collect two special promotional cards, and purchase booster boxes ahead of the wider North American release.

Comic-Con Debut and Early Access

The main NARUTO Mythos TCG booth will be located at the Marriott hotel during San Diego Comic-Con. Here, visitors can participate in hands-on demos, play against other attendees, and learn the core mechanics of the game. The system is built around assigning character cards to mission cards, activating unique effects, and utilising a strategic face-down mechanic to conceal characters for ambushes or upgrades. Everyone who tries the demo will receive a grab bag, which includes a unique Summoning Jutsu promo card while supplies last.

In addition to the Marriott booth, the Rocketship booth on the main convention floor will be the first US location to sell booster boxes and card packs. Purchasers of a booster box will also receive a Shadow Clone Jutsu promotional card, again while stocks last. Both promo cards are classified as Mythos rarity, a tier reserved for cards only available through special events and tournaments.

Card Rarity and Set Structure

NARUTO Mythos TCG cards are divided into several rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Secret Rare, and Legendary, with Mythos rarity reserved for exclusive event cards. Common and Uncommon cards are available in Normal, Full Art, and Holographic versions, with Full Art cards featuring a transparent text box to showcase more artwork, and Holographic cards offering enhanced visual effects.

Rare cards are designed as puzzle art cards, forming a continuous illustration when arranged together. Rare Art variants introduce unique backgrounds and micro-engravings, while Secret Rare cards feature a gold finish and abstract holographic patterns. The highest tier, Legendary, consists of uniquely numbered cards crafted with 22-karat gold foil, making them the rarest pulls in the game.

Release Timeline and Regional Rollout

The first official card set, Konoha Shidō, will see pre-release events across the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean from 29 August. A full North American launch is planned to follow, with a global rollout-including Central and South America-scheduled for November. Set 2, Shinobi Shiren, is due to arrive in Europe in September, and Set 3 will introduce the NARUTO Shippuden era and the Akatsuki faction. Zvezdar, the Slovenian distributor behind the US launch, has previously overseen the game's European expansion and is now bringing its expertise to American retailers and players.

The game is designed and published by Cicaboom, an Italian company with a background in trading card games and hobby products. A professional competitive programme is also in development for North America, aiming to support organised play and tournaments following the launch. For those interested in the broader context of major gaming events, the recent Modern Warfare 4 beta schedule announcement at multiple platforms highlights the growing trend of early-access opportunities at major conventions.

Retailer and Community Engagement

Players and shop owners interested in stocking NARUTO Mythos TCG can engage with the distributor through the official website, where retailers can register to host events or order products. The game's official channels on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube will provide ongoing updates, news, and community highlights as the North American launch approaches. Zvezdar has encouraged community involvement, inviting players to tag their local shops on social media to help expand the game's reach.

For those new to trading card games, rarity tiers are a central concept. Rarity affects both the collectability and potential value of cards, with higher tiers often featuring unique artwork, finishes, or gameplay effects. Event-exclusive cards, such as those in the Mythos tier, are typically only available through limited-time promotions or tournament participation, making them especially sought after by collectors and competitive players alike.
