Rockstar's new trailer sets the tone for Grand Theft Auto VI with fresh footage and music from Justice. It offers no clear look at how the game plays.
Justice's "Flower in a Hurricane" supplies the defining musical cue for Rockstar's new Grand Theft Auto VI footage. Published on October 15, 2026, the 90-second video moves through new scenes and builds a sense of the game's atmosphere. It does not show how a particular gameplay system works. The track features Justice with Tame Impala. SZA also appears, alongside King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
A mood-first trailer
Rockstar Games published the launch trailer on YouTube. The edited montage gives viewers a feel for the game's tone and presentation, rather than an uninterrupted stretch of play that could show controls or mission structure. It introduces new scenes and characters, but does not identify them as captured gameplay.
That distinction matters. A short, edited trailer can show new material while revealing little about how a game responds to player input or how its systems fit together. This video offers no specific mechanics to assess. It also provides no performance figures or platform-specific capture details. Treat it as a mood-setting preview, not evidence of final image quality or performance.
NGB previously examined a Steam startup clip, another example of how a short video supports only a narrow claim. Here, the footage shows atmosphere and new scenes, not a hands-on view of play.

Release details remain fixed
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar's October 15 trailer arrived about five weeks before that date and announced no change to it. Bloomberg reported that the release was moved twice: first from 2025 to May 2026, then to November 19, 2026. Bloomberg's account says development head Jennifer Kolbe informed Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick of the later delay. The confirmed platform list here is limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer adds fresh scenes and a prominent musical cue, but leaves practical questions about the game unanswered. It does not demonstrate particular mechanics or explain how the footage was captured. No technical data is provided for comparisons across platforms.
A launch trailer is edited promotional footage, not automatically a gameplay demonstration. Even when it contains new scenes, editing can cut away the uninterrupted play needed to judge controls or understand how a mechanic works.
