ESCAPE: The Cabin Locks In a November 5 Steam Launch

Deceptive Games Ltd will launch its first-person cabin horror game on Steam on 5 November 2026. A free demo is live ahead of Steam Next Fest, with more than 70 puzzles and clues that change between runs.

The player wakes in a remote wooden cabin with no idea how they got there. Deceptive Games Ltd has set the PC release of ESCAPE: The Cabin for 5 November 2026, and a free demo is available now.

The demo arrives ahead of Steam Next Fest, which runs from 19 to 26 October 2026. Valve's festival gives players a week to try free demos of upcoming games. It ends ten days before the scheduled launch.

Deceptive Games Ltd is an independent studio based in South Wales. Its earlier releases include The Initiate. The Initiate 2: The First Interviews and Silent Descent followed. NGB has also covered UnderMire's dated debut, though that upcoming Steam game is a co-op horror roguelite rather than an escape-room puzzle experience.

To get out, players must search the cabin for concealed compartments, inspect objects and solve connected puzzles. The story also asks them to uncover who imprisoned them and why.

Objects can be picked up and inspected. Players can also combine or dismantle them. The announced challenges include deciphering codes and opening safes. Repairing machinery and finding hidden routes are part of the puzzle mix too.

Clues change between runs.

Deceptive Games says clue positions and item locations are randomised between playthroughs. Puzzle solutions change too, so an answer from one attempt may not work the next time. Players will have to inspect the evidence again rather than depend on memory alone.

The studio puts observation and deduction at the centre of repeat attempts. More than 70 puzzles is a substantial advertised count, but the announcement does not say how many are required in a single run. It also leaves unclear how randomisation works across the cabin's connected challenges.

ESCAPE: The Cabin is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam on 5 November 2026. The free demo is available now, and the full game can be added to a Steam wishlist.

Deceptive Games says the project draws on its earlier work in atmospheric horror and puzzle games. The announcement describes the cabin setting and object interactions, along with the puzzle types and changing clues. It provides no hands-on assessment or independent performance testing.

The studio says clues, item locations and solutions vary between attempts. How those elements fit together across the full game is not detailed in the announcement.

No price or PC system requirements have been announced.
