Table Knight Games has dated its co-op horror roguelite for 13 November 2026. A new trailer introduces spell-caster Rawiah and shows the Bunker's grassy first layer, with Mothman appearing.
At the Cozy After Dark Showcase, viewers saw the descent move into a new part of the Bunker.
Release date and platform
Manchester-based Table Knight Games is developing and publishing UnderMire for PC via Steam. The studio revealed the launch date in a trailer shown during the Cozy After Dark Showcase on 12 October 2026. GamesBeat reported that the showcase featured more than 50 game trailers and ran on Steam from 12 to 19 October. UnderMire now has a specific launch day: Friday, 13 November 2026.
A free playable demo is available now on PC through Steam, where players can also add the game to their wishlist. The announcement gives no price for the full release. It does not list PC system requirements or say whether the demo contains the same material shown in the trailer. Those details remain unconfirmed.
Rawiah enters the Bunker
Rawiah joins Hannah and Leo as the fourth playable character. Sam is also part of the roster. Rawiah uses a spell-casting tome, bringing a magical approach to the threats in the Bunker. Gematsu says each character has a distinct personality. Their playstyles differ, as do their tools. The trailer gives a first look at the Bunker's grassy first layer, along with new gameplay footage.
Mothman is the footage's most conspicuous threat, but the announcement does not explain its role. The creature could signal danger or cause it. Neither possibility is confirmed. The trailer shows Mothman, but does not establish how it behaves over a full run or whether this encounter is typical.
Table Knight Games has also revealed key art showing Hannah alongside Leo. Rawiah and Sam complete the pictured four-character group. The image confirms the announced roster, but promotional art says nothing about how their abilities balance in play. No independent testing is available, and the material does not establish how the final release will perform.
Co-operation and improvisation
UnderMire is a first-person roguelite adventure for one to four players. Players descend into a constantly changing magical bunker beneath an old English manor. There, they fight monsters and overcome hazards, while uncovering the location's secrets. The announced challenges include fear-fuelled monsters and bosses. Traps and puzzles also feature, along with strange tasks. According to IG News, the game supports solo play and online groups of up to four.
Proximity voice chat makes coordination part of the experience. Teammates can communicate when close together instead of relying only on distant, team-wide conversation. Gematsu says the feature is meant to add to the co-op chaos, particularly when players are panicking.
Each character has distinct abilities. Their tools and playstyles also differ, while a fear gauge gives the group another element to manage. The SMUSH system lets players combine ordinary objects into useful gear. That can mean healing items or explosives; elemental weapons are another possible result. CGMagazine describes a mechanic in which combining two items creates a more powerful weapon. Teams have a reason to improvise when a planned approach fails, rather than treating each encounter as a straightforward weapons check.
Turning objects into run-specific tools puts UnderMire among roguelites built around adaptation. NGB has covered another unusual roguelite design. Here, online co-op and proximity chat shape group play, while improvised equipment gives players another way to respond when plans fall apart. The practical test is whether those systems stay readable when fear and combat collide.
A roguelite builds its identity around repeated attempts shaped by variation rather than one fixed sequence. UnderMire pairs that structure with a bunker that changes and tools players can repurpose. The game's success will depend on whether its changing challenges create engaging decisions alongside co-op improvisation. The free demo is available now on PC through Steam.
