Pearl Abyss has issued a new hotfix for Crimson Desert, updating the game to version 1.18.01 across all platforms. The patch addresses several technical issues but leaves some known problems unresolved, with further updates expected

Pearl Abyss has released a second patch for Crimson Desert this weekend, delivering hotfix 1.000.460 and bringing the game to version 1.18.01 on all supported platforms. This update follows a previous patch issued just a day earlier, reflecting an accelerated patch cycle as the developer works to address post-launch issues.

Patch Details and Fixes

The 1.000.460 hotfix is focused on resolving a handful of technical problems rather than introducing new features or content. According to the official patch notes, the update addresses four main issues: a delay when interacting with NPCs while the lantern is lit, missing housing items placed in earlier versions, unexpected game closures after launch in certain scenarios, and incorrect map displays in specific areas. The patch is available now and applies automatically for players on all platforms.

While the update is relatively small in scope, it is intended to improve stability and address player-reported bugs that have affected gameplay since the last major update. No new gameplay systems or content additions are included in this release, and the developer has not indicated any changes to performance targets or platform-specific features.

Known Issues Still Affecting Players

Despite the latest fixes, several known issues remain unresolved. Pearl Abyss has published a list of ongoing problems, including intermittent failures when interacting with NPCs, mounts, or certain objects, and a bug where fish caught in specific areas cannot move. Progression in Greymane faction quests is currently blocked for players using the Damiane or Oongka characters, and there are ongoing input issues with the "Evasion Control" option when set to "Hold".

Platform-specific problems are also present. On Mac, cursor alignment can be inaccurate at certain resolutions, and the colourblind filter does not apply to the user interface when enabled. PlayStation users may experience screen freezes if characters are entered too quickly when naming pets or horses, with the developer recommending slower input as a temporary workaround. On NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs, enabling FSR Upscaling and Frame Generation can cause the screen to appear white, and FSR4 upscaling may result in rain effects disappearing or the screen becoming blurry during rainy weather.

Update Timing and Future Plans

Crimson Desert update 1.000.460 was released on 15 August 2026, less than 24 hours after the previous patch. The rapid deployment suggests that Pearl Abyss is prioritising urgent bug fixes in the immediate post-launch period. The developer has confirmed that further updates are planned, with a downloadable content (DLC) release scheduled for later in the year. No additional details about the DLC or future patch content have been provided at this stage.

Players should expect continued support as the studio works through the remaining technical issues. The current patch does not require manual intervention and will be applied automatically via platform update systems. Pearl Abyss has not announced any compensation or in-game rewards related to the recent technical problems.

Hotfixes such as Crimson Desert 1.000.460 are designed to address urgent technical issues without introducing new features or content. Unlike major updates, hotfixes typically focus on stability, crash prevention, and critical bug resolution. They are often deployed rapidly in response to player reports or post-launch monitoring, and may be followed by further patches as additional problems are identified or resolved.
