Terminus: Zombie Survivors has received a significant update, with Longplay Studios releasing version 1.3 on 31 August 2026. The headline feature is full Steam Workshop support, allowing players to browse, install and manage mods directly through Steam. This marks a major shift for the turn-based survival roguelike, which has now become fully moddable for the first time since its 2024 launch.
Steam Workshop integration
The addition of Steam Workshop support means players can now subscribe to mods with a single click, streamlining the process of customising their experience. Mods can introduce new occupations, traits, perks, weapons, items, recipes, and even new zombie types. The system also supports complete rebalancing of the game's survival mechanics, giving the community broad creative control over difficulty and gameplay structure.
At launch, more than 50 mods are already available, having been created during the update's beta period. Modders use plain JSON files and a dedicated tool included with the game, with full documentation provided on the official website. Terminus: Zombie Survivors has sold over 150,000 copies on Steam since its release and previously won the Indie Game Award at the 2024 Korea Game Awards. Longplay Studios, based in Daejeon, South Korea, is also developing a sequel and a separate business management simulation, but the current update focuses solely on expanding the original game's modding potential.
