Priestess's Delusions brings Ukrainian folklore to PC in late 2026

Priestess's Delusions, a kinetic visual novel inspired by Ukrainian folklore and Japanese aesthetics, is set to launch on PC in Q4 2026. The game promises a blend of romance and mystery, with a short, focused narrative experience

Priestess's Delusions has been officially announced for PC, with a release window targeting the final quarter of 2026. This kinetic visual novel aims to merge elements of Ukrainian folklore with a Japanese-inspired visual style, offering players a narrative-driven experience that focuses on romance and supernatural mystery. The story centres on Leo, a young man spending his summer in a quiet village, whose encounter with the enigmatic Penny draws him into a world where the boundaries between reality and the supernatural are blurred.

Gameplay and Narrative Structure

The game is described as a kinetic visual novel, meaning it will not feature branching choices or multiple endings. Instead, players can expect a linear story designed for a single sitting, with an estimated playtime of around two hours. The narrative promises to explore themes of secrecy, tradition and the unknown, as Leo and Penny uncover the village's ancient mysteries. The focus on a concise, uninterrupted story aligns with the kinetic novel format, which has become increasingly popular among players seeking a more curated narrative experience.

Visual and Audio Presentation

Priestess's Delusions will include over ten high-quality CG artworks to illustrate key moments, aiming to bring the story's folkloric and supernatural elements to life. The original soundtrack is set to feature more than ten musical pieces, supporting the game's atmosphere and emotional tone. While the Steam page is not yet public, it is scheduled to go live on 17 August, providing further details and media assets for prospective players. The press kit is already available for those seeking early visuals and information.

Release Timing and Platform Details

The game is currently confirmed only for PC, with no mention of console or handheld versions at this stage. The Q4 2026 release window places it among several narrative-driven titles expected later in the year. For players interested in other recent PC visual novel launches, the release of Road Diner Simulator Prologue on Steam earlier this year offered a different take on narrative-focused gameplay, as covered in our recent report on PC visual novel releases.

In visual novels, the term "kinetic" refers to a format where the player's role is to experience a predetermined story without making choices that affect the outcome. This approach contrasts with branching visual novels, where player decisions can lead to multiple endings or divergent storylines. Kinetic novels are often favoured for their focused storytelling and ability to deliver a tightly controlled narrative, making them well suited to shorter, atmospheric experiences like Priestess's Delusions.
