Europa 1410 Early Access roadmap sets launch date and multiplayer update

Ashborne Games has revealed the Early Access roadmap for The Guild 1 Remake Europa 1410 including launch content new professions and a multiplayer update as over 300000 players add the game to their Steam wishlists

Multiplayer ambitions and a detailed content roadmap have taken centre stage as Ashborne Games officially outlined the Early Access plan for The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, confirming a 17 September 2026 launch on Steam. According to Steam store and community pages, the game is being released as an Early Access title, with the public demo also scheduled for an update on the same day. The project, previously known as The Guild: Europa 1410, has been officially rebranded as The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, as reported by GameStar and Global Esports News. With over 300,000 players now wishlisting the game-a figure cited by Global Esports News-the studio is betting on a blend of medieval business simulation, political intrigue and competitive online play to revive the franchise for a new generation.

Launch content and playable features

At launch, Early Access will offer six cities-Graz, Kuttenberg, Nuremberg, Freiburg, Wrocław and the tutorial town of Landsfort Herle-alongside eight professions including Smith, Tailor, Joiner, Stonemason, Priest, Innkeeper, Alchemist and Perfumer. Players can expect both German and English localisations from day one, with additional languages such as French, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Simplified Chinese and Russian planned for future updates. Steam metadata currently classifies the game as a Simulation, Strategy, and Sandbox title, reinforcing its genre focus (Steam store page).

Core gameplay will revolve around managing and expanding workshops, hiring workers, and building a dynasty through marriage and succession. The campaign structure is designed to span multiple generations, with players navigating shifting social hierarchies, applying for city offices, and influencing urban development through alliances, bribery or blackmail. The political system is intended to let players shape city laws and infrastructure, directly affecting their own fortunes and those of their rivals.

Roadmap updates and multiplayer plans

Three major updates are already scheduled for Early Access. The first, dubbed the "Stabby Update", will introduce combat professions such as Thief, Robber and Guard, expanding the game's approach to street crime, duels and city security. This update promises a reworked combat system, with improved duelling mechanics and new opportunities for both criminal and law-abiding playstyles.

The second, the "Backstabby Update", is set to deliver the long-requested multiplayer mode. According to Steam store and retailer listings, the game will support multiplayer for up to 12 players, allowing them to compete or cooperate in the same city, form alliances or rivalries, and pursue both cooperative and competitive victory conditions. This update will also overhaul the in-game economy, making city needs and resource management more dynamic, and will add a new city map to the rotation.

Full release and economic expansion

Upon reaching version 1.0, The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 will add the Moneylender and Trader professions, deepening the economic simulation. Traders will gain access to rare goods and international trade, while Moneylenders will enable currency exchange and loans-complete with the risk of debt if repayments are missed. The full release will also introduce a new map and expanded Guild gameplay, allowing players to assert dominance over their chosen craft and city politics.

Regular updates throughout Early Access are promised, with each patch aiming to improve stability, address bugs and rebalance systems based on player feedback. The studio's approach mirrors the iterative development seen in other recent medieval strategy titles, such as those reported earlier in the genre, but with a stronger focus on dynasty-building and social manoeuvring. Third-party coverage from GameStar and Global Esports News in early September 2026 notes that the public demo is being refreshed alongside the Early Access rollout, indicating a broader pre-launch test and marketing push.

What remains unconfirmed

While the roadmap is ambitious, Ashborne Games has not yet detailed the full scope of multiplayer features at launch, nor has it provided specifics on cross-platform support or modding tools. The studio has committed to expanding localisation and adding new cities, but the pace and order of these additions remain subject to change. Pricing for Early Access and the final release has not been disclosed, and there is no mention of console versions at this stage.

With the Early Access launch set for 17 September 2026, players will soon be able to test the initial build and provide feedback on both technical performance and gameplay balance. The success of the roadmap will depend on the studio's ability to deliver regular, meaningful updates and to respond to the demands of a large, strategy-focused player base.

Early Access is a release model that allows players to purchase and play a game before it is considered complete, with the understanding that features, content and stability may change over time. Developers use Early Access to gather feedback, test systems and refine gameplay ahead of a full launch. While this approach can accelerate development and foster community involvement, it also means that the experience at launch may be incomplete or subject to significant revision. Players should be aware that Early Access games may lack certain features, contain bugs or undergo major changes before reaching their final form.
