Get Wrapped Up Inc. expands Three Kingdoms: BOND on 13 October with 29 warlords. Sima Yi joins as a new Gunshi with a command that activates during the END phase.
Three Kingdoms: BOND entered Early Access on 14 July 2026, and its first major scheduled roster expansion arrives on Tuesday 13 October.
Get Wrapped Up Inc. will add 29 warlords and a new Gunshi, or Strategist, to the deck-building roguelite army battler. The update centers on new formations and interactions. Sima Yi introduces an END-phase command that changes how players plan around the close of each battle cycle.
According to the Japanese gaming publication 4Gamer, Get Wrapped Up Inc. is both the developer and publisher. Yasuhiro Nishiyama is credited as the project's creator. The Tokyo studio was founded in May 2025 and is led by Nishiyama, a former Sega producer associated with the arcade games Sangokushi Taisen and maimai.
The Update In Numbers
The expansion contains 29 warlords across four rarities. SR accounts for 9. R accounts for 6. UC accounts for 6. C accounts for 8.
The game supports one or two players through asynchronous online and real-time PvP. Matches are designed to last approximately 10 minutes. Those figures put the roster expansion in context: this is a substantial addition for a game where deck construction and battlefield positioning determine which combinations can function.
The same official breakdown reported by 4Gamer confirms the full rarity distribution rather than only listing the headline total. A GamesPress page published alongside the studio's announcement of its next game described Three Kingdoms: BOND as holding a Very Positive Steam rating across more than 400 user reviews. That page also confirmed the July 2026 Early Access launch.
The new SR group includes Zhang Liao and Xiahou Dun for Wei. Taishi Ci and Sun Ce join Wu. Lu Ji and Dong Zhuo represent Qunxiong. Ma Chao and Huang Yueying join Shu. Lady Yan also enters the Qunxiong roster.
The listed Costs range from 1 to 3. FORCE values range from 1 for Lady Yan to 10 for Sun Ce. That gives players options spanning low-cost support, aggressive cavalry and higher-impact frontline units.
Three Kingdoms: BOND is available on PC through Steam for Windows and macOS. The full version is listed at USD 7.99 as a one-time purchase. The Early Access price is USD 7.49. The publisher states that neither version uses gacha or pay-to-win elements. Four Time-Saver DLC packs are also listed at USD 4.99 each as one-time purchases.
New Warlord Roles
Zhang Liao is a 2.5-Cost Wei Cavalry unit with FORCE 9 and INT 5. His Hero's Command raises the FORCE and Movement Speed of Cavalry allies within range. During END, it raises FORCE again whenever a charge succeeds. His value depends on nearby cavalry and repeated successful charges.
Taishi Ci brings a different kind of pressure. The 3-Cost Wu Archer has FORCE 9 and INT 7. His Ultra Buff raises his own FORCE, Attack Range and Detection Range. With enough allied Archer units on the battlefield, defeating enemies increases his FORCE and causes him to target the enemy with the lowest FORCE.
Sun Ce instead turns Spearmen into a stronger core. He raises his own FORCE and Movement Speed. He increases HP beyond the maximum and boosts allied FORCE when enough allied Spearmen are deployed.
Several newcomers are built around risk and timing. Dong Zhuo's Hero's Command raises the FORCE of nearby allies and later restores their HP. A unit that retreats while affected causes the castle to take damage per Cost.
Lady Yan temporarily strengthens one random ally. After a set number of counts, that unit's FORCE drops sharply. Lu Ji activates at low HP, restores health beyond the maximum and gains further FORCE when enough enemies are present.
The Shu roster adds Ma Chao and Huang Yueying. Ma Chao triggers his Ultra Buff when his HP falls to a certain level. He gains FORCE and Movement Speed, recovers HP and increases the number of Chain Charges before receiving further bonuses during END.
Huang Yueying is a 1.5-Cost Siege unit whose Dance ability rewards allied retreats. Spearman losses grant allies INT and HP. Siege losses grant FORCE.
Sima Yi Changes Endgame Timing
Sima Yi is the update's only new Gunshi, or Strategist, and his identity is tied directly to the END phase. His Gunshi Command activates after 4 counts. It gives allies +1 FORCE while reducing enemy FORCE by 1.
The official PR Times announcement describes this command as "終", or "End". It confirms the four-count activation together with the +1 and -1 FORCE changes.
The timing rewards players who can preserve a formation long enough to reach the command's activation window. Zhang Liao and Ma Chao can turn successful charges into greater momentum. Dong Zhuo and Lady Yan ask players to calculate the cost of temporary power. Sima Yi makes the end of a cycle an active point of tactical evaluation instead of a passive cleanup phase.
The publisher's announcement points toward fresh synergies built around Sima Yi's END-phase Gunshi Command. It provides no balance data, win-rate figures or competitive tier assessment. Claims about the strongest new formation would therefore be premature. The confirmed change is the arrival of the tools themselves, not proof that any particular combination will dominate PvP.
What Players Can Expect
Players will have 29 new warlords to combine with an existing roster of more than 100. The range of Costs can affect compact formations and expensive specialist builds.
The new abilities create explicit conditions around charges, retreats, unit counts, HP thresholds and END timing. The update is aimed at players who enjoy building around rules instead of stacking raw FORCE.
Three Kingdoms: BOND offers concrete information on the update date, roster count, rarity breakdown, Sima Yi's command and the listed purchase options. No independent performance measurements, competitive results or evidence from testing outside the developer's announcement have been supplied.
That leaves the update's quality tied to the systems it delivers. The confirmed additions include cavalry charges, retreat-based effects and delayed END-phase payoffs. The announced pricing remains a one-time purchase at USD 7.99 for the full version and USD 7.49 during Early Access, with four Time-Saver DLC packs priced at USD 4.99 each.
An END-phase ability is a delayed tactical trigger rather than a conventional real-time attack. A four-count activation gives opponents time to disrupt the formation and gives the player a reason to protect key units until the effect fires. Sima Yi's command activates after 4 counts, raises allied FORCE by 1 and lowers enemy FORCE by 1.
