Toplitz Productions to Unveil New Game and Playable Demos at Gamescom 2026

Toplitz Productions will reveal a new title at gamescom 2026, alongside hands-on demos for Vikings Dynasty, Wild West Pioneers and Permafrost. The publisher promises a mix of city building, survival and world premiere content for attendees

German publisher Toplitz Productions has confirmed it will announce a brand new game at gamescom 2026, joining a line-up of hands-on demos for Vikings Dynasty, Wild West Pioneers and Permafrost. The reveal is scheduled to take place at the Kölnmesse in Cologne from 26 to 28 August, with the publisher's booth located in Hall 4.1. The new project will be introduced as part of the Find Your Next Game Showcase, an event hosted by Webedia, and is expected to offer a fresh perspective on the city-building genre. Details remain under wraps until the official announcement, but Toplitz has indicated that the game will be available for media and content creators to preview during the show.

Playable Games on the Show Floor

Attendees will have the opportunity to try Vikings Dynasty, which is set in a Scandinavian archipelago and focuses on settlement leadership and survival. The demo will allow players to explore rugged terrain, navigate fjords and begin the journey towards becoming a jarl. Wild West Pioneers, another title on display, is a classic city builder where players develop a frontier town from humble beginnings to a thriving community, managing production chains and preparing for the arrival of the railroad. Both games are scheduled for release on PC, with Wild West Pioneers targeting a launch later in 2026.

Permafrost and Early Access Plans

Permafrost, a story-driven open world survival sandbox, will also be playable at the event. Set in a harsh, sub-zero environment, the game challenges players to endure extreme cold and survive in a whiteout landscape. Toplitz Productions has confirmed that Permafrost will enter Early Access on PC on 9 October 2026, giving players a chance to experience the game's systems ahead of its full release. The publisher has not yet detailed the scope of content available at launch, but the playable build at gamescom is expected to reflect the core survival mechanics.

Publisher Profile and Industry Context

Toplitz Productions, based in Germany and Austria, is known for its work on the Dynasty and Giant series, collaborating with a mix of industry veterans and emerging talent. The company's approach centres on multi-platform development and partnerships with creative studios. For those interested in the broader landscape of simulation and strategy releases, recent launches such as Silver Blade of Gods' End have demonstrated the ongoing appetite for territory-conquest and management games, as seen in this recent Steam release.

Early access is a release model that allows players to purchase and play a game before its full launch, often while development is ongoing. This approach gives developers the opportunity to gather feedback, address technical issues and expand content based on player input. However, early access builds may lack polish, contain incomplete features or experience performance issues not present in the final version. Players considering early access titles should be aware that the experience can change significantly before the official release, and that progress or systems may be reworked as development continues.
