Akupara Games has marked its tenth anniversary with the first Akupara Direct showcase, revealing new titles, Switch 2 releases and a physical Rain World Anthology Edition. Here's what was actually announced and what it means for players

New titles and platform moves
The most immediate headline is the confirmation of Bonespire, a whimsical-dark crafting simulation from the Cryptmaster team, now officially in development for PC. Players will manage a wizard's tower, crafting artefacts and brewing potions while interacting with a world that responds to their choices. No release date has been set, but the reveal positions Bonespire as a key part of Akupara's next wave.
Meanwhile, Rain World Anthology Edition is set to make its physical debut on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with a dedicated version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This edition bundles the base game with both Downpour and The Watcher expansions, and will be available in both Standard and Collector's formats. The Collector's Edition includes an artbook, knitted Slugcat scarf, keychain, standee, holographic sticker sheet, soundtrack download card and a collector's box. Pre-orders are open now, with the ESRB rating confirmed as E10+.
Airframe Ultra, the next project from Videocult (Rain World), has been given a release date of 5 November 2026 for PC. The game is described as a retro combat racer with online multiplayer, melee combat and the ability to steal vehicles mid-race. This is not a simple racing game-players can be knocked off their hoverbikes and forced to fight on foot, adding a layer of chaos to the formula.
Publishing expansion and episodic content
Akupara has also announced the creation of Kallisti Games, a new sub-label focused on publishing distinctive indie projects. The first title under this banner is AOKAKI, a retro-styled feudal platformer featuring insect-inspired characters and fast-paced movement. AOKAKI is scheduled for PC release in 2027, with further details to follow as development progresses.
On the episodic front, Kumitantei: Old School Slaughter will see its second episode launch on 12 November 2026 for PC. The first episode, released in April, has already attracted a "Very Positive" rating on Steam and generated attention within the Fangan community. The new episode continues the murder-mystery adventure format, but no details have been given on the total number of episodes planned.
Spooky Doorway's The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon, the third entry in the supernatural point-and-click series, was teased with a new case involving werewolves and traffic. The game is targeting a 2027 release on PC, with a playable demo available now. No console versions have been confirmed at this stage.
Desktop companion and live programming
Montabi, a free desktop companion from the creators of Montabi, was also revealed. The application allows players to attract and interact with different Montabi creatures on their desktop, complete a Montapedia, and use built-in productivity tools such as a to-do list, Pomodoro timer and lo-fi music player. Montabi is set for release on PC and Mac in November 2026, with no mention of mobile or console versions.
The Akupara Direct did not end with the showcase. The publisher extended the event into a live programme featuring developer play sessions, AMAs and community segments, running until 6:00 PM Pacific. Notably, the livestream included a Rain World speedrun segment and time with the AOKAKI and Moonlight Kids teams, echoing the hands-on approach seen in other recent indie events such as those reported earlier on NGB.

Physical editions of Rain World Anthology Edition are being produced in partnership with Serenity Forge, with the Collector's Edition offering a range of extras for dedicated fans. No pricing has been disclosed, and regional availability has not been detailed beyond the confirmed platforms.
