Jolly Match 3 MR introduces its first team-based event, Team Adventure, launching 27 July. Players will collaborate aboard a steampunk airship, unlock rewards, and explore themed floating islands in a limited-time co-op challenge
Jolly Match 3 MR is set to launch its inaugural team event, Team Adventure, on Monday, 27 July. This new feature introduces a co-operative structure to the match-3 puzzle game, allowing players to join forces aboard a Victorian-inspired steampunk airship. The event is designed to run weekly, offering a blend of collaborative progression, interactive environments, and exclusive in-game rewards.
How Team Adventure Works
Team Adventure transforms the standard solo experience by requiring players to work together to collect Airships, the event's dedicated currency. Airships are earned by completing match-3 levels, with standard, hard, and super hard levels awarding 1, 3, and 5 Airships respectively. A ×2 multiplier can be activated to accelerate team progress. The event operates on a fixed schedule, beginning each Monday at 08:00 UTC and concluding on Friday at 08:00 UTC, with progress tracked collectively across all team members.
The airship itself serves as an interactive hub, featuring a detailed Victorian-steampunk design. Players can manipulate the ship's wheel for different views and interact with brass levers and buttons to launch new levels. Progress is visually represented through in-world elements such as pressure gauges and antique clocks, integrating the event interface directly into the game environment.
Floating Islands and Rewards
As teams accumulate Airships, their vessel advances towards three distinct floating islands, each themed and offering a unique treasure chest. The Aztec Island provides a Bronze Chest, Viking Island offers a Silver Chest, and Roman Island delivers a Gold Chest. Each chest contains a selection of rewards, including Infinite Lives, Boosters, Space Kitty, Pinwheel, Coins, and other power-ups. The Gold Chest's coin reward scales with the team's performance stage, incentivising sustained participation.
To claim rewards, players must contribute at least one Airship during the event. Once a milestone is reached, the airship docks at the relevant island, and players can physically interact with the chest to collect its contents. The top three contributors within each team are recognised on the event leaderboard and receive additional bonuses such as Rockets and Color Bombs.
Participation Requirements and Progress Sync
Entry into Team Adventure requires players to have reached Level 23 and joined a team. An internet connection is necessary when accessing the event for the first time each week, but Airships can continue to be earned offline, with progress synchronising once connectivity is restored. Any rewards earned but not claimed during the event will be automatically delivered after the event concludes, ensuring all contributors receive their share.
Team Adventure is positioned as a significant addition to Jolly Match 3 MR's live-service structure, aiming to foster greater collaboration and replayability. The event's weekly cadence and milestone-based rewards are consistent with trends seen in other live-service puzzle and simulation titles. For context, the recent launch of Silver Blade of Gods' End, which introduced territory-conquest mechanics to a simulation RPG, demonstrates the growing appetite for collaborative and event-driven content in adjacent genres. More details on that release can be found in our coverage of Silver Blade of Gods' End's Steam debut.
Event Timing and Player Impact
The first Team Adventure event is scheduled to begin on Monday, 27 July, with subsequent events following the same weekly structure. All players meeting the entry criteria can participate, and the event is designed to accommodate both online and offline play, with progress syncing to ensure fairness. The leaderboard system and scaling rewards are intended to encourage both casual and competitive engagement, while the interactive airship and themed islands add a layer of visual and mechanical variety to the core match-3 gameplay.
For players interested in joining, the key requirements are reaching Level 23, joining a team, and ensuring an internet connection for initial event access. The event's structure is designed to minimise friction, allowing for flexible participation and automatic reward delivery.
Live-service events like Team Adventure rely on regular content updates and collaborative mechanics to maintain player engagement. In this context, a live-service model refers to a game that receives ongoing updates, timed events, and new features after its initial release. These models often use event currencies, leaderboards, and milestone rewards to incentivise regular play and team participation, distinguishing them from traditional single-purchase puzzle games.
