Online Feedback

Postby coragi » Mon Jun 22, 2009 5:50 pm

Hi,

One major problem with PES is the online game. It has lag. There are people with 10Mb connection that live in the same city and they have lag. Since I live in Brazil, many people often says: "of course there is lag, you live in Brazil!". But I played FIFA09 and it doesn't have lag.

I'd like to see some way to create an Online Master League. For example: I create a ML, invite some friends and play against them and the CPU.

Another big thing is: 1vs1, 2vs2 or 10vs10 BAL. I just think that playing with your friends against the CPU isn't fun enough.

Of course, Konami could add other things like: clan support, online leagues, something to punish cheaters or people who disconnects, integration with PSN and Live, ability to watch games from other people.

And I think that's it. But fixing the lag problem is really the only thing that matters.

Thanks

My thoughts about PES:s online in general:

PES 6 (on PS2) had it all right, and it should be the starting point in making PES 2010:s online. It's gameplay was lag-free and smooth, it had decent match making and it had 2v2 on single console, which I love and played like maniac with my friends.
I'm in an impression that Konami uses PES 6:s netcode in PES 2010, so all things above should be implemented, right :)

In addition, Konami should implement some sort of cheat prevention system. There are and always will be people up to no good but at least lag cheat should be taken care of somehow. Someone wrote in WENB forum earlier that Street Fighter 4 (?) has some sort of lag cheat prevention system, which terminates the match if it notices suspicious behaviour.

Secondly, prevent Barca-kids. Only a handful of teams are used (Barca, Manu, Chelsea, AC/Inter Milan). Perhaps getting rid of making those god-like players (Adriano, Messi, Eto) would be a good start. Someone had an idea that if you use same teams over and over again, your points which you get from winning should be reduced. I think this is an excellent idea.

Here's a quick summary of text above:
-lag should be fixed
-lag cheats should be taken care of
-decent match rooms
-2v2 back
-bitter end to barca kids

Yes, good you open this topic.
For me it is my BIGGEST let down over PES 2009 ( not to mention PES 2008 ) and I hope we at least get lag-less 1 vs 1 on-line and probably 2 vs 2.
For PES 2010 I do not expect something like club-mode; I am realistic and if 1 vs 1 is already so hard, expectations should not be too high.
I know club mode is a FIFA-mode, but they probabaly can work out a similar things over the next years.

Why isn't Konami using their own servers? Peer to peer as it is now was not very succesfull. It was very lag-sensitive as well.
I did read that Konami has appointed people who are on-line specialists, so hopefully we can play on-line with PES 2010... finally! :)

For me Online has been the biggest disappointment on PES since it went onto Next Gen.

Whilst PES6 online was by no means perfect it was a lot smoother then what has been rolled out in the last two iterations of PES.

I think Lebako is onto a winner with his idea that winning with the lesser teams should be worth more ranking points to encourage people away from using Brazil, Barca, Man Utd in online modes.

ya online can make or break a game as you well know konami.
you guys must be sick to teeth about us moaning about it, but its important to us....

ok i dont want much just a decent lag free game....

lobbys say 6 people max...for the people in the lobbys to watch ya game. winner stays on. that type of thing.

2 v 2 is enough for me...

tounaments...ranked or un-ranked

would like it if you could take your editted kits online, even if its un-ranked cool by me.

would like some sort of goal of the month online.

thanks for listerning...

i won't bother going into the lag issue - i'm sure Konami know all about that.

I would like to see you implement a Club feature, like FIFA have for their Be a Pro mode, but for all match types.

As an example, we could have a WENB club. Within that club we could organize tournaments, which records would be kept from. Overall statistics could be kept for the club - goals scored and conceded, games won and lost, cups and leagues won. It should have an overall ranking within the club, to show who is considered to be the best in that club.

Add online team download...

So for instance, someone makes a team that isn't in the game, he posts it online. People vote it up or down, and people get to search for these teams and download them to their game.

Same for faces, kits, boots...etc.

The actual presentation when playing online is very poor at the moment. FIFA online presentation is much slicker and user-friendly none of these horrible menus and icons you see in PES, that was acceptable on last-gen but not anymore

And get rid of all them ridiculous messages before you can even get in to online mode. Again look how quick you can get into playing online with FIFA and compare it with how long for PES.

And the most important point is none of these unecessary ids we just want to start playing

I agree to most of the people here. If it is possible to play with 2 (or more) players from the same console online, PES2010 will be the best game ever. :)

Maybe be a strange request

Postby smc » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:02 pm

Hello

Thanks for reading this :)

What I am about to say may sound strange but I feel an option like this may even out the playing field when it comes to the online side of things.

When I play online with PES or another football game I tend to go various teams, from Roma to Lyon, Everton to Beskitas and the international side of things are the same. What I am getting at is, maybe its just me but I find people who go Barcelona/Man Utd/Brazil all the time to be boring. Ok, each to their own and that is their right of course to go THE strongest sides in the game at every given opportunity but I find it mundane, when I play online I want a challenge and a bit of variety, I look at my friends list and the players met status on Xbox Live, when I see friends/other people playing FIFA 09 for example and it states on their profile the status of a online match it always involves either

Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United,Brazil and Spain.

Are these people that worried about losing? You watch when the next football games are released how many people will go Real Madrid. How about a team selection cap that only allows you to select a certain team say 5-10 times a month online? It may actually benefit the player in using other teams and various players to get a better sense of how to play the game whilst gaining experience on how to cope with them if you come across them in the future and possibly provide a better overall online experience. Many people I speak to about football games online say they get tired and bored of facing the teams I've mentioned above and selecting a similar side ability wise with a sense of spite.

I expect many disagree but before you have a go at me, I have gone them teams myself and found it too easy, something challenging is the only way to learn properly instead of pass to ronaldo on the right wing for every attack. ;)

Watch Friends Online

Postby smc » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:14 pm

Dear Konami

How about the ability to join a match in progress online but as a spectator? A mate of yours brags he beat someone 4-0 last time around but "i was watching you and you got trounced 5-1 mate" Uh oh

Seriously, I think this could be a good feature, if you want to relax after a couple of games but your mate/mates want to carry on you can select the Spectator Mode option, chill out and cheer your mates on. Maybe get a acheivement/trophy for it

Grab A Beer - 5g/Bronze Trophy - Watched a match in Spectator mode

I also thought about this idea. But i don't want the usual camera view when you play a normal match. I want a camera, like showing from 1 person view of person sitting in a seat of his own choose.

I maybe hard to understand due to my english.

I agree that something must be done, but how about the guys who maybe playing a competion with some others. They are playing CL and after 10 matches one of them can't use his team if he is playing one of the bigger teams. It will ruin things. :D

First of all online has to be free of lags before we can expect a visitor mode!^^
But something must be done with the handling of friends. It is a bit wierd in PES 2009...

Konami, please let us use our perfectly good PSN accounts to play online.

No konami ID/GAME ID nonsense for 2010 please. This is very important.

PES 06 I spent the good part of my ours off work playing online PES. Since the next gen versions I have played 3 matches...

My top 3 fixes: (I'm not even gonna mention lag/connection issues because its 2009 and these things should just be sorted)
1. Tournaments/leagues like in '06, but improved.
2. If I play against someone online, after the match we should be able to choose rematch without having to create a new room again.
3. Country flags to show where opponent is located.
