Valve looking to improve its relationship with the PS3

Now as a huge fan of one of the greatest gaming series ever, Half-Life, and the unique mini-masterpiece, Portal, i would love to see game developers Valve getting more involved in developing games for the PlayStation 3. Valve are known for developing quality games that are not like anything else, their games involve a unique level of innovation, humor, fun and excellent storytelling.

Thats why i was pleased when i read on CVG today a Valve writer, Chet Faliszek, speaking of Valves intentions to improve their work for the PlayStation 3, especially after a somewhat lacklustre effort in porting the hugely popular “The Orange Box” after outsourcing the development to EA.

Chet Faliszek speaking to CVG:

“We thought that the Orange Box didn’t put our best foot forward with the PS3 community. We don’t want to do something like that again on the PS3. We want to give PS3 owners the best possible experience.

“Some of that will come from us learning and getting better. Before we can go onto the PS3 again, we want to make sure we’re better at developing for it.”

Not only will this be good news for Half-Life fans considering the PlayStation 3 could see a quality version of the next Half-life title which will eventually be released, but also for fans of the Left 4 Dead series who might be lucky to see the title eventually appear on the PlayStation 3.
