Timesplitters 4 Interest ‘Not High Enough Yet’

Crytek have stated that although they know fans want to see Timesplitters 4, the interest for the title isn’t high enough yet.

Crytek CEO and Founder, Cevat Yerli stated via VG247:

“I tested through my official blog to see how big the Timesplitters community is, and while the volume of responses was quite high, we feel it’s not high enough yet. That being said, it did indeed trigger a deeper evaluation of what we do with Timesplitters, and I can only say this for now; we might have some surprises coming soon.”

Maybe Mr. Yerli should test the community who reside outside of his official blog. I know I’d insta-preorder it. TS2 was one of my favourite shooters of all time.

The amount of time ive spent on past Timesplitters games was crazy! Agree with you there, Nick

The reason Timesplitters worked was because it was made by the same people (people, not developers) who made Goldeneye/Perfect Dark classics on the N64 and Timesplitters felt very much like these games – and it had funky multiplayer – also let’s not forget it was actually Timesplitters which was the first game to get the controls correct on a dualstick pad that we still use today and not Halo!

Totally Lee, Goldeneye was how I spent many-an-evening with school buds. Timesplitters carries a similar charm that those games always had. I’d say it wasn’t just nostalgia either, it’s genuinely a very good series.
