Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz has hinted that StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm (HotS) may not be seen until 2013.
HotS was originally expected to arrive in store later this year but the reasoning of Doug Creutz is definitely worth taking into account. In a research note he has been quoted to say that “Typically, Blizzard puts its new titles into beta for 3-6 months before they are officially released. With only 5 months left in the year, while it is still possible that Swarm could make the fiscal year, we are now assuming it ships in FY13.”
Annoying as this news is to fans of the StarCraft series, there is some good that accompanies the bad. Blizzard have stated that a HotS playable multiplayer will be part of the up coming August Gamescom. On top of that, players are going to be able to use all of the new units that Blizzard have in store.
