Those creative and imaginative lot at PopCap Games are at it again with the release of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Now, Plants vs. Zombie has never been a game that has conformed to standard game conventions and this is more than evident in Garden Warfare.
In the video below we see a soldier getting shot at and scurrying behind a wall, just before he brings out a weapon of unusual proportions! He then goes charging in to battle with the weapon and attacks the camera ahead of him… Genius! The tag line “Put down the shotgun, pick up a dolphin” fits the game’s crazy, wacky nature perfectly. In fact, so does “Shooters just got weird!”
The game itself has a real focus on multiplayer, but with a Plants vs. Zombies twist. It will support up to 24 players, giving you the option to be (you guessed it) a plant or zombie. Oh and there’s a four player co-op mode too! It’s a concept that will appeal to the young gamer, but also anyone who might’ve previously played a Plants vs. Zombies game. It’s the game you all know and love on your mobile device, but in 3D with a lot more mayhem. So, yeah, expect plants, zombies and warfare in a garden! Just like the title suggests.
Plants vs. Zombies : Garden Warfare is out 28th February 2014 on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the UK. Check out the video below!
