It seems like Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima isn’t ready to say goodbye to the legendary Solid Snake yet, as he might yet make an appearance in Metal Gear Solid 5.
Speaking to French magazine IG, Kojima stated “”We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”
An interesting statement, especially when you consider his condition at the end of Metal Gear Solid 4. Will Snake suddenly get better and make an appearance in Metal Gear Solid 5, or is it a case of us getting a look at a much younger version of the legendary soldier? Only time will tell what Kojima has up his sleeves.
In addition to the above revelation, Kojima couldn’t help himself and also revealed a few details regarding Metal Gear Solid 5, some of which were already common knowledge. Again, speaking to IG magazine, he stated the following:
- Hideo Kojima confirms Metal Gear Solid 5, but we don’t know if the project is at the beginning or well in progress, and we don’t know if Kojima will be in charge.
- Metal Gear Solid 5 will use the Fox Engine (kind of already known). The [Fox] demo showed wasn’t in-game, but only an internal demo for showing lights.
- Metal Gear Solid 5 will be more of an infiltration game, with characters who can interact, as seen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Metal Gear Solid 5 featuring character interaction similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Kojima isn’t usally one to just straight up copy, so it will be interesting to see how that mechanic is tweaked and evolved in the Metal Gear Solid.
