L.A. Noire is the upcoming open-ended adventure game developed by Australian based Team Bondi and is to be published by Rockstar Games for the PlayStation 3 and, only recently announced, the Xbox 360.

Players are given the role of a detective, Cole Phelps, who must solve a series of murders in late 1940’s Los Angeles in the backdrop of the postwar. The player begins at the bottom and works his way up through the ranks of the L.A. police force.  The game differs from the other popular games in its genre such as Saints Row and, most notably, GTA whereas the player depends less on action and more on his interview and interrogation skills to solve cases, also a keen eye for finding clues at many of the crime scenes he will encounter. As the title would suggest, the dark mood and style of the game is heavily influenced from the films around that time, in what is considered the “Film-Noir” era.

The game has been in development for almost a half-decade, since it was announced back in 2005.
