E3 2017 – Sony Press Conference Roundup

Sony wrapped up the first day of press conferences early yesterday morning, and here’s what they had to show! Whilst there weren’t many new announcements, there were plenty of embellishments to previous titles!

UNCHARTED – THE LOST LEGACY GOT A NEW TRAILER

The show opened with a weird musical number and an actual waterfall on stage! It then gave way to a brand new Lost Legacy trailer, focusing on Nadine and Chloe once again. This game is looking gorgeous, and it’s out soon too!

DAYS GONE LETS YOU FIGHT ZOMBIE BEARS

Zombie. Bears. The Days Gone demo ended with a horrifying glimpse at what the outbreak of… well… whatever it is in the game. It also showed off a lot more of the intricacies of the gameplay of what we saw last year. This showed a bit more of the biking gameplay, as well as a bit more of the stealth mechanics. One particular highlight was when the horde of “Freakers” was used as a weapon against an enemy gang. Check out the new trailer below

Capcom’s mega-franchise is coming to the PS4 soon with a new title – That’s… That’s kinda all I need to say about it, I guess. I’m not the biggest fan of it, but if you’re into that kind of thing, check it out!

DETROIT BECOMES MORE HUMAN

Detroit: Become Human got a new trailer, with Jesse Williams being unveiled as another playable character. Looks like a massive android uprising is on the cards in the futuristic thriller from Quantic Dream! Sadly there wasn’t even a hint of a release date, but we can but hope it’s not too far out… Right?

DESTINY 2 EXCLUSIVE CONTENT CONFIRMED

Unsurprisingly, Destiny 2 gets some PS4 exclusive content, including a Strike, and some cosmetic stuff, as well as a new exotic weapon. I’m sure Nick and Nico will go through it all in Destination Destiny this week, so I’ll leave that to them ;)

DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER CAN

Insomniac’s Spider-Man brought the curtain down on Sony’s show, with a gorgeous gameplay demo. Keeping the sense of humour you’d expect for Spidey, with a whole lot of Arkham-style mechanics brought in for good measure, this looks like it’s going to be a must-have exclusive for the console when it launches in 2018.

And that was it! Sony’s show was short, sweet and slightly lacking in “megatons”, but the pre-show also contained some news that Super Hot VR is coming to PSVR, so colour me happy.
